Amazon no longer uses a standalone software called the “Amazon MP3 Downloader”; instead, you download MP3 files directly through your web browser or the standard Amazon Music desktop app.
It is important to note that you can only download DRM-free MP3 files for music that you have explicitly purchased from the Amazon Digital Music Store. Streaming tracks from Amazon Music Prime or Amazon Music Unlimited cannot be downloaded as MP3s, as they are encrypted cache files designed only for offline playback within the Amazon app.
Here is how you can easily download your purchased music using a computer web browser or the desktop application: Method 1: Using a Web Browser (No App Required)
Go to the Amazon Music Web Player and log into your account. Click on Library at the top of the screen.
Select Music, then click the Purchased button to view the tracks you own.
Click the three dots (context menu) next to the song or album you want to save. Select Download.
If prompted to install the app, click “No thanks, just download music files directly.”
Your browser will save the track as a standard MP3 file, usually inside your computer’s Downloads folder. Method 2: Using the Amazon Music Desktop App Open the Amazon Music Desktop App on your PC or Mac.
Navigate to Library and filter your view by clicking Purchased. Click the download arrow icon next to the song or album.
Alternatively, you can drag and drop your tracks into the “Download” action section on the right sidebar.
By default, the downloaded MP3 files will automatically organize into an Amazon Music folder located inside your computer’s native Music or My Music directory. Managing and Transferring Your Files
Once downloaded, these MP3 files belong to you without restrictions. You can freely import them into external media applications like Apple Music or Windows Media Player, copy them to an external flash drive, or transfer them to a dedicated MP3 player via a standard USB cable.
